Our Teachers
Retha Cazel - is the owner and primary teacher for Yoga and More. A
certified instructor; she began her yoga practice in 1983. She is an inspired Anusara
Yoga teacher -"aligning with the divine grace from the heart", and a certified "Cardiac Yoga" teacher.
Her classes combine the authenticity of heart wisdom that she has gained throughout the years,
encouraging each person to find the yoga poses which are best suited for their needs. She teaches
Vipassana Meditation, and continues her study of yoga, meditation & healing with renown teachers.
She has studied in India with B.K.S, Geeta, and Prashant Iyengar.
Carey Gillis - Carey Gillis was born and raised in the Corning area. In
99' Carey graduated and became a NYS licensed massage therapist. Continuing on the bodyworkers
path she travelled to California where she was trained in Sivananda yoga, a classical style of
yoga which incorporates asana, breathing, and relaxation. She approaches her own yoga practice
with self-discipline and awareness of the nature of body, mind and spirit. She has been teaching
yoga since 2000 and completed multiple workshops with world renowned yoga practioners like Rodney Yee
and John Friend. In 2005, Carey finished her sivananda advanced teachers training certification
and continues to teach weekly classes locally in Corning. She substitute teaches here at Yoga and

Joshua Goldman - teaches T' ai Chi QiGong.He is a ten-year student of Yang-style
T'ai Chi Ch' uan and QiGong. Joshua has studied with multiple high-level teachers in the U.S. and
the U.K. and is a Tai Chi student of Nancy Coronia. QiGong, Chinese mind/body work, is a way to find
stillness through motion. Simple postures have proven effective for range of motion, vascular
strength (legs) and balance (with daily practice). Joshua has been engaged with optimal fitness for
40 years. He is easy to work with, his delightful sense of humor and keen understanding of etherial

Melanie Wood - has been sharing her love of yoga, meditation, stress reduction and
energy work in many settings and with many types of individuals by working in groups and one-on-one. Melanie
has worked with a versitile crowd: from kids and mothers to be, to seniors in care facilities, from corporate
leaders, to those in fitness facilities. Melanie combines her learned modalities into a process called
Personal Integration. Personal Integration creates individualized sessions that enable clients to
discover first what their needs are, and then ensure awareness or action steps to integrate the discoveries
into daily life. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher as well as a Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy
Practitioner. Originally certified by YogaFit in 2003, she then completed her Iyengar based 200 hour
teaching certification in 2006 through the Yandara Institute. Her Yoga Therapy Practitioner certification
was completed in 2010 through the Phoenix Rising Center.
Melanie's yoga class is Thursday afternoons from 4-5 pm, she co-shares the teaching slot with Tim Sallade
on an every other week basis.

Jami Lacerte - is a certified yoga instructor who recently moved to
Painted Post from New Jersey. Jami teaches the Vinyasa yoga class on Sunday mornings, and an
Intermediate Vinyasa on Tuesday evenings. Her classes often combine an intensity and lightness
that allow her students to safely challenge themselves while maintaining a sense of ease that
is so important with the practice of yoga. She invites all of her students to be their own best
teacher, to allow the breath to be their guru, and to dwell in their true nature, that of truth,
knowledge, and bliss absolute.

Tim Sallade - Tim's spiritual awakening occurred in 1994 and after the
study of numerous metaphysical texts; he was introduced to Kundalini Yoga in 1995. He received
teacher certification in the second half of 1997 by Gurucharan Singh Khalsa and he has studied
directly with Yoga Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga and founder of all teaching in the West.
Tim's yoga classes combine the technology of Kundalini Yoga, including the power of the breath,
physical movement and sound with sacred meditation to uplift consciousness and help you to discern
the truth of who you are. Connecting with the sacred space of the heart and the natural flow of
